Despite the gazillion books in the "earthosphere", the wealthy, the good people, and those doing leadership the right way are not up to 50% of the global population (in my humble but accurate opinion).
The man who succeeds in business is not the man who reads a book on starting a business. The man who succeeds is the one who reads the book and goes ahead to start a business.
Reading about how to make a sandwich won't put it in your mouth. You have to go and buy the ingredients and then actually make it.
Sure you'll have more knowledge than the non-reader. But haven't you noticed that people who can't drive are very good at directing the driver from the passengers seat? It still doesn't make you a driver until you get behind the wheel.
Reading helps you lead your thoughts. But ensure you lead them to action.
Except you're reading for entertainment or solely knowledge acquisition, always ask yourself "what next?" and pick out points you will implement from what you just read, even if it's just one. Then start working on them, or save for a later date. If you're not doing that, use your eyes for something else.
