When I was much younger, I used to watch movies where ladies would say things like, “Babe, you better use what you have to get what you want…or do you want to die of hunger?”
Then the lady receiving the advice would turn around to check her body out and be like, “Yes oo….I have something. See shape.”
I thought they were a bunch of idiots moving on the fastest train to hell. Don’t blame me…I was only a child :).
Now I’m older, and guess what? They we’re right.
We often feel that to get what we want, we have to always use something we don’t have. So we start looking for resources or help from people we don’t need.
There are several instances in the Bible where people used the resources available to them to fast track their success.
The widow of Zarephath in 1Kings 17 gave Elijah the only food she had in hand. He blessed her for it and she had plenty.
David in 1Samuel 17 didn’t need the King’s armour. He was okay with the stones and sling he used often.
We already have everything we need to get started. If there’s something you want to achieve, and you feel you don’t have the resources, look again. There’s every chance the real resources you need are available to you right now.
Resources don’t have to be money. They could be skills, people, experience, influence, etc. Bottom line is use what you have to get what you want. That way, you won’t experience delay.
