Solomon did not ask for wisdom from God because he was Superman and somehow just knew the right thing to ask for.
He did that because his father, David, taught him to value wisdom (Proverbs 4:4-7).
He had been programmed from childhood to hold wisdom in high esteem above everything else.
Well I don’t think we should’ve expected anything less…he was already a rich kid :).
Anyway, God gave him a gift. And the key part of his story I’d like to point out is that the King didn’t just use his gift of wisdom to rule. Or to build architectural masterpieces.
As I illustrated in my manifesto, he dropped pebbles into his might ocean consistently by teaching it to those who were willing to hear (1Kings 10:8, Proverbs).
And people visited from far countries just to learn at his feet and receive advice.
Sometimes, instead of saying “dangerous” prayers, all it takes is to use what God has freely given us to get that success we want.
Perhaps people will travel from far and near just to see you use your gifts…and pay you in exchange.
Who knows?
