The serpent presented a legal document that contained the terms of the deal.
It was supposed to be a simple deal where Eve, one of the board members and wife to the second largest shareholder was only to do one task – launch the new product and recommend the serpent for a good position in the business.
Eve was a complete newbie in the trade and the serpent, being a trained Lawyer, knew this. He also knew the power of signed legal documents and didn't want to take any chances.
He was smart enough not to approach Adam because Adam, the second largest shareholder and CEO was trained by the Chairman of the Board himself. "That's a no go area", he thought to himself, twisting his moustache at the same time.
On the D-day, he requested a meeting and made his presentation, pushing the document to her. He told her the benefits, stating that she'll own a large part of the business (as if she didn't already) and can become Chairman. Eve scanned through the document and was so eager to launch the Tree of Good and Evil product. But the document required Adam's signature too. The serpent was 80% sure that since Eve had signed, Adam won't think twice.
He was right.
Unfortunately, Eve only read the bold letters and didn't see the fine print which stated that by signing, their rights to the company would be transfered to the serpent. She also didn't see the clause which stated that while they won't die physically, they'll die spiritually.
No wonder Adam pointed fingers at Eve when the Chairman approached him angrily. "It's the partner you gave me sir", he said, almost urinating in his pants. At this point, even the security guard had a higher rank. They were kicked out!
The serpent capitalised on two things: impatience and ignorance.
The Bible has all the guidelines you need to understand clauses and nomenclature in any "business" documents.
Time to show the serpent that you are patient and knowledgeable of your rights. Or are you?
