As long as you’re human, you have a manifesto. If you haven’t started screaming about one yet, it’s because you haven’t thought about it, and not that you don’t have one.
This is more like a call to action than an advice.
“A manifesto is a written statement that describes your policies, goals and opinions.”
– Merriam-Webster Dictionary
Everyone has personal policies – rules by which they make decisions.
Everyone has a goal, no matter how fuzzy and undefined it is.
Everyone has an opinion about something, with some being more radical than others.
Knowing what you stand for isn’t an easy task, especially when you haven’t tried out many things.
But it gets revealed to you when you find yourself consistently doing, or talking about a particular thing over and over again.
That’s why it’s important that you do or talk about specific things repeatedly. Not because you just feel like doing that, but because you’re looking for an itch to scratch.
It’s impossible for a writer to know his message if he never puts pen to paper to write. It’s only after making several notes that he can raise them up to his face and see the similarities in subject matter.
This is the same with a painter, singer, designer, speaker and other professions.
Repetition births discovery in many cases.
Even if Moses never thought leading and taking care of sheep was a thing, he did it everyday, for decades, until he received a defined assignment to pursue.
David’s sheep-rearing abilities always had an element of protection in it. So fighting battles to protect his sheep (Israel) wasn’t new.
As a young boy who knew his way to the Synagogue and spent extra hours under the ministration of several teachers (Luke 2:46), Jesus Christ ended up becoming a top-notch teacher, spreading a message he discovered many years before. And he didn’t need much publicity to get students. They found him.
So even listening, studying, reading, watching and other not-so-obvious activities can be repetitive tasks that could birth discovery for you.
