While standing at a bus stop in an area I didn’t really know, waiting furiously for a bike, the heavy traffic and chaos caused by the fuel scarcity wasn’t an encouraging sight.
I tried to be positive, but the only statement going through my mind was, “dude, you’re going to trek”.
Ha! Trek? To where? God forbid.
After standing for 30 minutes, I had no choice. I needed the shortest route, so I took out my phone and checked Google Maps, hoping to find a quick shortcut.
Somehow, in the course of tapping plenty buttons on my screen which was already stained with sweat, I stumbled on a web app called Lara.ng.
In a previous post, I wrote about how ideas don’t settle for less. They only respect the person quick enough to implement them. And I mentioned a site called busstop.ng that had reached 80% in the development of an app that helps you know what bus to take and how much it’d cost.
Whoever developed Lara.ng had the same idea and was fast in implementation. The app knew some inner routes I wasn’t aware of, told me where to wait at in order to get transportation, and gave me an estimate of the bus fare.
No, it wasn’t a direct route, neither was it fast. Plus I had to apply some common sense because the app wasn’t 100% accurate, but at least, it solved a problem.
2018 is already knocking. You better stop waiting for a million dollars in capital before you start working on that idea, especially if it’s the right one. Start implementing and it’ll get easier gathering the resources you need.
