The statement, “I’m good at this” isn’t born from mere hypothesis. It’s a fact based on observation of past events.
With that in mind, there was a first time you did that thing which you’re now good at. Expertise then developed through continuous practice and implementation.
Unfortunately, not everyone can make the statement, “I’m good at this”. And that’s only due to one thing – lack of experimentation.
Your unwillingness to try new things for the first time is what leads to the ignorance of who you really are and what you could become.
Before Walt Disney could say, “I’m good at this”, he had to draw the Mickey mouse for the first time”.
Before David could say “I’m good at this”, he had to kill a bear for the first time (1Samuel 17:36).
What are you good at? And what could you be good at?
Some people are good at many things. So don’t limit yourself, or your children. Present opportunities for more creative experimentation.
