The eye is like a camera – it records events in pictures.
When we go through our day, our eyes capture events and link them up with past events we may have experienced.
When we watch the news and absorb the crap that media serves us, our eyes capture that too, link it up with what’s already in us and it forms our ideologies.
When we experience success, failure or disappointment, those too get recorded.
When we get scolded or praised, they get recorded.
We know what we’ve been taking pictures of when our minds press play and our bodies start to replay everything we’ve fed ourselves with.
Then at that point, it’s God’s turn to start taking pictures.
What pictures will He take of you?
Everything we feed ourselves with will determine what we do. We may not be able to just take the right pictures (we’ll take some messed up ones too), but I believe we can choose what pictures to keep and which ones to delete.
And if, while holding that “camera”, we ask Him to help us take snapshots from the right angles, so we can always see events from His own perspective, by the time our minds press “Play”, the universe will have an interesting movie to watch, with us as the main Actors.
Today is a new day. Start taking pictures. And act right while you’re at it. Let your work give God praise. (Psalm 150:6).
